Day One and half of Day Two:
So leaving the house was harder than
either of us thought it would be. I was pretty sad actually.
Once we were on the road though, we started to feel right at ease. That's a great part of life: Once you let go of one thing and accept that things will turn out fine, then greater things will come.
Going through Virginia wasn't anything
too new for us. We have been all over that part of the country,
especially Karl. It was too near our home, so it didn't feel that
particularly special to us. The day was cloudy and gloomy the whole
time.
We did hit a snafu once we hit Roanoke.
We bought a gas can unknowing that it leaks out of the spout. So, in
all of our PG county wisdom (aka ghetto), Karl tied it up in the back
so that it can't tip over and leak all over our car. (I know, but we
couldn't return it. We threw away the receipt and intentionally
ripped off the tags.)
The next day, we crossed the line to
Tennessee! I was really excited since I've never been here
before. In Tennessee, you can already feel the South. HUGE crosses
everywhere!
Right now we are zooming to Louisiana to visit my childhood friend, Mie. I'll post more an that once we get there.

Yea! Few things are better than the open road and the freedom to travel over it.
